School Year Restart in much of Cuba.

Havana: Cuba, with the exception of Havana and other territories, opens its schools today for the resumption of the 2019-2020 academic year with special precautions in order to avoid contagion with Covid-19, Radio Rebelde publishes.

Thus, 21 of the 168 municipalities in the country will not have face-to-face activities in general education, and the universities of six of the 15 provinces will remain closed.

Disinfection with chlorinated and alcoholic substances, maintaining physical distance between students and teachers, and other hygienic-sanitary measures are part of the Island’s arsenal to end the school period.

The Minister of Education, Ena Elsa Velázquez, assured that equal opportunities to all students are guaranteed, both those who return to their centers and the more than 355 thousand who must stay at home and watch the classes on television.
