Cuban Authorities Call for Rigor in the Application of Sanitary Measures

Havana: Cuban Deputy Prime Minister Alejandro Gil insisted on the need to apply rigorously and comply with discipline with the measures implemented to achieve an impact on the control of Covid-19 in Havana, Prensa Latina publishes.

Gil led this Tuesday the meeting of the temporary working group for the prevention and control of the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus, the cause of the pandemic, which, led by the president, Miguel Díaz-Canel, evaluated the application of these actions in the Cuban capital and the beginning of the school year in most of the country.

According to the official website of the Presidency, at the meeting the governor of Havana, Reinaldo García, commented on the behavior of these reinforcement actions aimed at guaranteeing greater social isolation and thus reducing the chains of infections.

He also highlighted the satisfactory performance of the sale in stores with the use of a computer application that allows controlling that in the establishments only people who reside in the municipality where it is located buy.

He reported that in each territory they work to facilitate this service to those who live in a certain municipality and do not have their official address there, so that they can make their purchases there.

For his part, the Minister of Public Health, José Ángel Portal, commented that of the 573 people confirmed with Covid-19 who are currently hospitalized, 494 are in institutions in the capital, of which 391 reside in said province. .

Only in the last 15 days, he pointed out, the number of positive diagnoses is 496, which means that the territory shows an incidence rate per 100,000 inhabitants of 23.23, the highest in the entire country.

Havana woke up this Tuesday under the new measures, which include restricting the mobility of people and vehicles, especially from 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. local time. They also require the mandatory use of a mask, frequent disinfection of hands and surfaces, limitations on sales hours in stores, among others, and provide severe fines for offenders.

This effort will be accompanied by a communication campaign, presented this Tuesday under the name Viraliza lo que salva, to create awareness in the population about the need to comply with the measures implemented against Covid-19 in a disciplined manner.
