Havana: The president of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel, considered that the active participation of the population in support of the institutions and the Health system is crucial in the fight against Covid-19, Prensa Latina publishes.

During the daily meeting of the Temporary Government Working Group on Wednesday, where the behavior of the epidemic was analyzed, he pointed out that efficiency in this confrontation will be achieved to the extent that the people take a leading role.

The Cuban president recognized the discipline shown by the inhabitants of Havana, the current epicenter of Covid-19 on the island, on the first night of the new restrictive measures implemented in the city to guarantee physical isolation and reduce infections.

According to the official website of the Presidency, Díaz-Canel insisted in working faster with each case of contagion and make rigorous analyzes of the epidemiological situation in the country.

He also urged to be more agile in complying with the protocols provided for the care of vulnerable people, in a day in which three deaths from the disease were lamented, the highest number of deaths in a day on the Island since the start of the pandemic.

The person who in conditions of vulnerability is positive or not, must immediately be isolated and treated with a group of protocols that are established and help us to lift immunity, he said, and demanded greater speed in the application of PCR tests and in obtaining the results.
