Havana: The capital of Cuba begins today the relaxation of some of the restrictive measures applied to stop Covid-19, while resuming economic actions to increase production.

These changes respond to the positive impact of the provisions of the last month and are aimed at promoting the gradual reactivation of the economy as well as increasing individual and collective responsibility, said the governor of the capital province, Reinaldo García, on the Round table television program on Wednesday.

The also vice president of the Provincial Defense Council (CDP), announced among others, the end of the prohibition of the mobility of people and vehicles at night and the restriction of circulation for state and private transport.

In addition, the limitation of the transfer between municipalities of people who exercise the activity of street vendor ceases.

It was decided to restore commercial activities and state and private services to 50 percent of their capacities, although the operation of places such as bars, discos, or public and private parties that do not comply with physical distancing measures will not be authorized.

Likewise, the enjoyment of beaches and swimming pools is resumed while public passenger transport will begin to operate from October 3 with 80 percent of its capacity, he added.

However, the control of interprovincial mobility to and from Havana will be maintained, which will only be authorized in exceptional cases by the CDP.

In the last 15 days, Havana has shown a trend towards epidemiological control of the coronavirus that causes the pandemic, which is reflected in the reduction of local transmission events, controls of active sources and positive cases, the provincial director of Health Public, Carlos Martínez, added.

However, the population must increase the perception of danger: individual responsibility is the most effective measure against the disease, commented the specialist.

The head of Health in the capital warned in that sense of the epidemiological risk that exists in the city associated with the spread of infections in the 15 municipalities and the viral.
