Havana: At midnight yesterday, October 1, 6 thousand 408 patients were admitted to hospitals for clinical epidemiological surveillance, of them: 4 thousand 738 under surveillance, one thousand 154 suspected and 516 confirmed, the official website of the Ministry of Public Health of Cuba reports.
For COVID-19, 7,545 samples were studied, resulting in 48 positive samples.
Of the 48 diagnosed cases, 43 are Cuban and five are Indian. Of the total number of cases (48): 44 (91.6%) were contacts of confirmed cases with no specified source of infection, 4 (8.33%). Of these, 32 (66.6%) are male and 16 (33.3%) are female.

Of the 5 thousand 718 patients diagnosed with the disease, 516 (9.0%) remain admitted, 510, 98.8% with stable clinical evolution. 122 deaths are reported (none of the day), two evacuated, 156 discharges of the day, 5 thousand 078 recovered patients (89%), one critical and five serious.
Until October 1, 185 countries with COVID-19 cases are reported, the confirmed cases amount to 34 million 29 thousand 996 (+ 315 thousand 335) and 1 million 15 thousand 43 deaths (+ 6 thousand 111) for a fatality of 2, 98 (-0.01).
In the region of the Americas, 16 million 794 thousand 263 confirmed cases (+ 115 thousand 241) are reported, 49.35% of the total cases reported in the world, with 560 thousand 388 deaths (+ 3 thousand 322) for a fatality of 3.33.
