Havana: Once again, Cuban biotechnology shows its strength, when the Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology presents the technical file of its first vaccine candidate against Covid-19 to the Center for State Control of Medicines, Equipment and Medical Devices, Radio Reloj publishes.
This step is essential to applicate for authorization of clinical trials in humans, according to the business group BioCubaFarma, which also highlighted that the preliminary results of the first vaccine candidate, Soberana Uno, are encouraging.
No adverse reactions or serious effects were observed, but the behavior of the assay and the processing of the samples remains to be evaluated to see if antibodies really exist, it was specified.
Today also begins the phase one of clinical trials of the second Cuban vaccine candidate, Soberana Dos, the only conjugate vaccine project against this pandemic.
