Havana: The Ministry of Public Health of Cuba reported this Thursday 217 new cases of Covid 19 and no deaths in the last hours, for an accumulated of 10,717 diagnoses since the beginning of the disease in the nation last March, Radio Havana Cuba publishes.
At midnight yesterday, December 23, 2,969 patients were admitted for clinical epidemiological surveillance, 718 suspects, 1,057 under surveillance and 1,194 confirmed.
For COVID-19, 13,138 samples were studied, resulting in 217 positive samples.
Of the total number of cases, 102 were contacts of confirmed cases, 101 with a source of infection abroad, and 14 without a specified source of infection, 101 were women and 116 men. 70.9% (154) of the 217 positive cases were asymptomatic.
The cases belong to Pinar del Río: 4 cases (3 imported), Artemisa: 4 cases (3 imported), Havana: 99 cases (34 imported), Mayabeque 13 cases (3 imported), Matanzas: 16 cases (12 imported) , Villa Clara 20 (19 imported), Cienfuegos: 3 cases (1 imported), Sancti Spíritus: 1 imported case, Ciego de Ávila: 1 imported case, Camagüey: 6 imported cases, Las Tunas: 18 cases (9 imported), Granma : 8 cases (1 imported), Holguín: 4 cases (2 imported), Santiago de Cuba 10 cases (4 imported), Guantánamo 10 cases (2 imported).
Of the 10,717 patients diagnosed with the disease, 1,194 remain hospitalized, of them 1,182 with stable clinical evolution. 139 deaths are reported, two evacuated, four returned to their countries, 71 discharges of the day, 9 thousand 378 recovered patients accumulate (87.5%). Twelve confirmed patients are cared for in intensive care, five of them critical and seven seriously ill.
Until December 22, 189 countries have reported COVID-19 cases, it amounts to 78 million 781 thousand 208 confirmed cases (+ 629 thousand 404) with 17 million 154 thousand 297 active cases and 1 million 731 thousand 941 deaths (+ 13 thousand 297) for a lethality of 2.19%.
In the region of the Americas, 34 million 162 thousand 726 confirmed cases (+ 296 thousand 282) are reported, 43.36% of the total cases reported in the world, with 9 million 61 thousand 770 active cases and 836 thousand 695 deaths (+ 6,199) for a fatality of 2.44% (-0.01).
