Cubans celebrate this January 1 the 62nd anniversary of the triumph of the Revolution, considered one of the most influential models of resistance and social struggle in Latin America and the world.

On the eve, Cuban president Miguel Díaz-Canel expressed his joy and ratified the inspiration that the Cuban people have been for the revolutionary process, Telesur publishes.

The triumph of the Cuban Revolution made possible the beginning of transcendental changes in the life of the people and the nation, brought awareness and certainty that a very difficult stage was approaching then, full of new battles, challenges and difficulties.

The Cuban Revolution achieved on January 1, 1959, the fall of the dictator’s regime, Fulgencio Batista, and the arrival to power of the leader of the guerrilla Rebel Army, Fidel Castro Ruz.

Since the revolutionary triumph, the United States has tried to violate the socialist government, but the determination of the Cuban people has prevented it.

The Cuban process transformed dependence on the United States, established in the Monroe Doctrine, with a much greater impact on the continent than any other Latin American insurrection of the last century.

The president of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, sent a message of admiration and commitment to the people of the Government of Cuba, on the occasion of celebrating the 62nd anniversary of the triumph of the Revolution.

At 62 years old, “the shock wave of that colossal triumph still awakens the consciences of the humble and shakes the structures of capitalism in Our America and the world?, the Venezuelan authorities stressed.

They also highlighted the admirable lessons of solidarity and scientific development provided by the Caribbean nation in a challenging year for humanity like 2020.
