Adoptan medidas en Güines ante rebrote de Covid-19.

Mayabeque, Cuba: The Municipal Defense Council in Güines prohibited the transportation of passengers in horse-drawn carriages, proposed giving tickets to customers in pharmacies and activates the messenger service to vulnerable people to avoid crowds and contain the spread of Covid-19.

They also urged to comply with the foot-steps and the disinfection of hands in the workplace, as well as not allowing the entry of workers with respiratory symptoms.

As for public transport, it remains limited to the opening and closing of the line and with a capacity of 50 percent of passengers. They maintain the total closure of the private porters of the municipality and proposed the prohibition of the entry of those who come from other regions.

At the meeting, they updated on the epidemiological situation of the territory, which registers 19 active cases, 7 imported cases, 122 contacts of confirmed cases, 14 open foci and there are five areas with movement restriction or quarantine.

They also evaluated compliance with the measures adopted in different sectors to reduce the transmission of the disease.

Given the increase in people infected with the virus and the dispersion in different areas of the town, population studies are carried out to identify possible new cases of coronavirus.

The Directorate of Public Health, in conjunction with the officials of the Ministry of the Interior and the officials of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, work on the imposition of sanctions on those who violate the measures established for the crime of epidemic spreading.

The Municipal Defense Council was chaired by the First Secretary of the Party, Aniurka Mazorra Yero, the mayor, Yainiú Márquez and the President of the Municipal Assembly of People’s Power, José Ariel Cantero.
