Ampliarán las casas de cambio sus servicios en Cuba.

Mayabeque, Cuba: According with the monetary ordering process that takes place in Cuba, the Currency Exchange Houses (known as Cadecas) of Mayabeque and the rest of the country work to expand the services they provide to the population, the institutions and the forms of management not state, Cubasí reports.

The president of the entity, Joaquín Alonso Vázquez, assured that from the beginning of the Ordering Task on January 1, it increased its operations throughout the country.

The manager assured that the service of buying or selling convertible pesos (CUC) for Cuban pesos (CUP) is one of the fundamental functions of Cadeca, and transactions are carried out very quickly.

For cases where the amount of convertible pesos that the population goes to sell exceeds the amount of CUP in cash, Cadeca has a replenishment system through the Specialized Protection Services Company, (Sepsa), to maintain the service, Alonso Vázquez specified.

Regarding the purchase and sale of freely convertible currency (MLC), the president of Cadeca clarified that this service is maintained, although it is only focused on people who are going abroad and need to redeem.

This is due, he said, to the drastic decrease in tourists, which has caused a reduction in the ability to sell MLC.

The redemption or sale by Cadeca of MLC is limited to a maximum of, before 300 CUC, now 7,200 pesos, for passengers who are going to leave the country.

During the first six months of the year, customers may change from CUC, and in case there is no availability of dollars, they will be provided euros.

The Cadecas also have among their functions the receipt of deposits from entities to credit their accounts and the payment to retirees through electronic payroll.

Alonso Vázquez added that passenger taxes are also charged at airports for merchandise with customs duties.

The manager stressed that since Cadeca is a member of the country’s banking and financial system, it has the mechanisms and the necessary integration so that the cash collected or paid in one of its entities arrives debited or credited in the accounts of any Cuban bank.

Another Cadeca service is the collection of taxes from self-employed workers and other forms of non-state management that are paid monthly to the National Tax Administration Office.

According to Alonso Vázquez, the entity keeps identifying other transactions that the population or entities need to carry out in the banking system to adjust the mechanisms of instructions and procedures.
