Havana: Cuba is promoting a renewable energy development program until 2030, aimed at reaching up to 24 percent of the national energy matrix, Radio Habana Cuba publishes.

The greatest efforts are dedicated to the photovoltaic solar energy sector, although the development of hydroelectric plants, wind farms, and the policy for energy saving are added.

According to the nation’s Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment (Citma), electricity generation is largely based on the overexploitation of these fossil fuels.

Similarly, foreign investment is also promoted through benefits and total or partial exemptions, temporarily or permanently, in accordance with the law.
