Havana: The national director of Epidemiology of the Ministry of Public Health of Cuba, Dr. Francisco Durán, reported this Thursday four deaths and 778 samples positive for Covid-19 during the last 24 hours, for an accumulated of 59 thousand 157 diagnoses since the beginning of the disease in the nation, Radio Habana Cuba reports.
During his usual press conference, the specialist reported that at midnight yesterday 23,843 patients were admitted, of them 4,258 suspects, 14,929 in epidemiological surveillance and 4,656 confirmed.
Durán explained that the country carried out 17,541 samples the day before for an accumulated of 2,594,515 samples analyzed.
The epidemiologist announced that, of 778 patients, 457 were asymptomatic at the time of diagnosis, 752 have a source of infection in previously confirmed cases, 4 have a source of infection abroad (3 foreigners) and in 22 people the source of the infection is unknown. 774 autochthonous patients were reported.
Of the total confirmed, 379 are male and 399 female. Regarding the age groups, under 19 years of age, 130 patients were diagnosed and in pediatric ages, 693 remain active hospitalized. In the ages of 19 to 39 years 261 cases were confirmed, between 40 and 59 years about 252 cases and 135 people older than 60 years.

He specified that, of the 59 thousand 157 patients diagnosed with the disease since the beginning of it, 4 thousand 656 remain admitted, of them 4 thousand 576 with stable clinical evolution. 361 deaths are reported (4 in the last day) for a fatality of 0.62. The two evacuees remain, 54 returnees and 54,084 recovered patients accumulate (634 discharges of the day). 36 patients in critical condition and 44 patients in serious condition are reported.
