Henry Reeve Brigade returns to Cuba from Mexico.

Cuba: Another brigade of doctors from the International Contingent of Specialized Doctors in Disaster Situations and Serious Epidemics Henry Reeve returned to the Homeland, again with the mission accomplished, who left for Mexico in December, to collaborate in the confrontation with COVID-19, Radio Habana Cuba reports.

This team worked for three months in a complex situation, and its work has been recognized by the Ministry of Defense and Health of the Mexican Republic, and also by the direction of the Government of Mexico City, the President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez said when welcoming them, through a video message.

Since the first brigade left abroad on March 16, 2020, to collaborate in the fight against the pandemic, another 56, with almost 5,000 professionals, have reached 40 countries for the same purpose.

The group that returned yesterday, made up of 96 doctors and nurses, treated 441 suspected or confirmed patients with SARS-COV-2. Of these, 167 were admitted and 139 graduated. It carried out 43,861 nursing actions and 159 invasive procedures, rehabilitated 123 patients and carried out 1,213 training in Biosafety.

The head of the brigade, Dr. Rafael Luis Pino, highlighted that in a joint effort with the host staff, they managed to reduce the incidence of cases and mortality, indicators that were very high when they began their work.
