Havana: The national director of Epidemiology of the Ministry of Public Health of Cuba, Dr. Francisco Durán, reported this Friday three deaths and 735 positive samples for Covid-19 during the last 24 hours, for an accumulated number of 65,149 diagnoses since the beginning of the disease in the nation, Radio Habana Cuba reports.

During his usual press conference, the specialist reported that at midnight yesterday 20,975 patients were admitted, of them 3,709 suspects, 13,691 in epidemiological surveillance and 3,575 confirmed.

Durán explained that the country carried out 19 thousand 381 samples the day before for a cumulative of 2 million 749 thousand 686 samples analyzed.

The epidemiologist announced that, of 735 patients, 369 were asymptomatic at the time of diagnosis, 709 have a source of infection in previously confirmed cases, 10 have a source of infection abroad and in 16 people the source of infection is unknown. 725 autochthonous patients were reported.

Of the total confirmed, 340 are male and 395 female. Regarding the age groups, 130 patients were diagnosed under 19 years of age and in pediatric ages, 634 remain active hospitalized. In the ages 20 to 39 years, 206 cases were confirmed, between 40 and 59 years about 243 cases and 156 people older than 60 years.

The cases reported belong to Pinar del Río: 49, Artemisa: 26, La Habana: 396, Mayabeque: 4, Matanzas: 9, Cienfuegos: 3, Villa Clara: 8, Sancti Spíritus: 22, Ciego de Ávila: 4 Camagüey: 33, Las Tunas: 6, Granma: 62 , Holguín: 4, Santiago de Cuba: 93, Guantánamo: 16

He specified that, of the 65,149 patients diagnosed with the disease since the beginning of it, 3,575 remain hospitalized confirmed, of them 3,500 with stable clinical evolution. 387 deaths are reported (3 in the last day) for a fatality of 0.60. The two evacuees remain, 54 returnees and 61,131 recovered patients accumulate (753 discharges of the day). 30 patients in critical condition and 45 patients in serious condition are reported.

Until March 18, 190 countries with cases of COVID-19 are reported, there are 121 million 967 thousand 960 infections and 2 million 695 thousand 171 deaths for a lethality of 2.20.

In the region of the Americas, 54 million 372 thousand 351 confirmed cases and 1 million 303 thousand 264 deaths are reported for a fatality of 2.39.
