With these data, the total number of confirmed cases in this Caribbean nation since March of the year is 73 thousand 204 and 417 decesos, doctor Francisco Durán, national director of Epidemiology explained.

The specialist of the Minsap added that three thousand 527 patients are still being hospitalized with the active virus.

Yesterday, 19 thousand 360 diagnosed tests throughout the national territory were carried out to detect the presence of the virus, which raises the number of millions 943 thousand 431 the total number of samples taken since the beginning of this pandemic.

After regretting the death of two patients this Sunday, the doctor informed that there are 23 773 people admitted: 4 004 suspects, 16 242 on surveillance and 3 527 confirmed (active cases).

Of the 3 527 active cases, 3 456 (98%) maintained a stable clinical evolution and 71 remained in intensive care: 27 critics and 44 serious .

Of the 701 cases confirmed on Sunday, 696 are autochthonous and five were imported. 661 (94.3%) of those diagnosed were confirmed case contacts.

In 35 (5%) of those diagnosed the source of infection is unknown.

By age groups, Durán reported that 112 under 20s were reported, 240 patients from 20 to 39 years old were diagnosed, 240 from 40 to 59 years old and 109 from 60 years old and more.
