Havana: Cuba reported this Friday thousand 77 new cases with Covid-19 and four deaths in the last 24 hours, Radio Habana Cuba reports.
In the usual press conference, the national director of Epidemiology of Cuba, Francisco Durán, explained that 4,517 people are admitted to the country’s hospitals with the disease caused by the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus, while the total number of deaths from Covid-19 amounted to 429, and the number of infected since March of last year totals 77 thousand 353.
There are 24 939 admitted patients, of them 3 706 suspects, 16 716 under surveillance and 4 517 confirmed, 215 more than yesterday.
Yesterday, 20,749 samples were processed in the 23 molecular biology laboratories of the country.
Of the confirmed cases, 1067 are autochthonous cases and 10 imported, of which 1030 (95.6%) were contact with confirmed cases, a total of 71 565 (92.5%). Of the 10 imported cases with a source of infection abroad, 5 076 (6.6%) have already accumulated.
Meanwhile, 37 (3.4%) have no specified source of infection and 712 (0.9%) accumulate.
Of the female sex 546 patients (50.7%), in the total there are 37 824 (48.9%) and of the male sex 531 (49.3%) in the total 39 529 (51.1%)
47% (506) asymptomatic at the time of diagnosis, accumulating 40 176 (51.9%)
By age group: 148 under 20 years old, 131 in pediatric ages, neither Las Tunas nor Isla de la Juventud reported pediatric cases, 9,270 accumulated, representing 11.9% of all those diagnosed in the country. Assets 794, the highest number since the beginning of the pandemic.
Patients aged 20 to 39 years, 375 diagnosed, 40 to 59 years, 383 positive cases and 60 years or more 171 patients.

Of the 77 thousand 353 patients diagnosed with the disease, 4 thousand 517 remain hospitalized, of which 4 thousand 434 with stable clinical evolution. There are 429 deaths (four in the day), two evacuees, 54 returned to their countries, there were 858 discharges on the day, 72 thousand 351 recovered patients (93.5%) accumulate. 83 confirmed patients are cared for in intensive care, 34 of them critical and 49 seriously ill.
Until April 1, 190 countries and 29 territories with COVID-19 cases are reported, the confirmed cases amount to 129 million 974 thousand 459 (+ 782 thousand 94) with 22 million 418 thousand 128 active cases and 2 million 834 thousand 295 deaths (+ 12,823) for a fatality of 2.18 (=).
In the Americas region, 57 million 79 thousand 907 confirmed cases (+ 253 thousand 587) are reported, 43.91% of the total cases reported in the world, with 9 million 189 thousand 65 active cases and 1 million 373 thousand 240 deaths (+ 6 thousand 803) for a fatality of 2.41 (+ 0.01).
