On this premise, which has marked the actions of the country in the course of the last year, the Prime Minister, Manuel Marrero Cruz, made special emphasis on Thursday, when he headed the meeting of the temporary working group for the prevention and control of the new coronavirus.

Together with Havana, Sancti Spíritus and Artemisa, Matanzas is one of the four provinces where the greatest spread of the disease was observed in the last day, while also in it and in the Cuban capital the number of cases more high in the country, according to the Minister of Public Health, José Angel Portal Miranda.
In the same way, he reported that the greatest increase in positive cases in the day of analysis was confirmed in Havana, at the expense of the Arroyo Naranjo municipality, and in Villa Clara, mainly in the provincial capital.
Precisely from the central territory, where 26 new positive patients were reported this Thursday, 10 more than the previous day, Governor Alberto López Díaz explained that 75% of the cases were concentrated in four municipalities: Cifuentes, Ranchuelo, Santa Clara and Manicaragua.

During the meeting, in which the Second Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, José Ramón Machado Ventura, and the Vice President of the Republic, Salvador Valdés Mesa, also took part, the government authorities of Santiago de Cuba, Sancti Spiritus , Cienfuegos, Pinar del Río and Havana, the latter province with the highest numbers of infections and where the epicenter of the transmission of the disease is verified.
