Today Cuba also dresses as a militiawoman and as 60 years ago it ensures that the future of the Homeland belongs to the Socialism.

It is not by chance that on April 16 the Eighth Congress of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) begins, evoking the momentous event six decades ago in which the socialist character of the Revolution was proclaimed. This is the Congress of historical continuity, of unity and of the decision of all the people to keep high the banners of dignity and social justice.

The new generations inheriting the tradition of struggle of those who preceded them proudly assume the task of continuing the work of the Revolution.

In the days that commemorate the feat of the Cubans in the sands of Playa Girón, to confront imperialist aggression, the delegates to the Eighth Congress will delve into the conceptualization of our economic model.

The meeting in the Cuban capital takes place in a complex scenario impacted by Covid-19 and the reinforcement of the United States blockade and will be working days and ratification of commitments.

This is the People’s Congress, a people hardened in the struggle for their rights, a rebellious and revolutionary people that will never go back to the past. Today the construction of an increasingly better and more socialist country is in the hands of the current generations, of the young people who give lessons of courage and patriotism and will know how to be worthy continuators of this work of infinite love.

Those who led us here are proud of the duty accomplished, Cuba is a free homeland with a people of dignity and willing to defend it to the last consequences.

The spirit of Girón is in the Eighth Party Congress and the victory here will also be ours. The homeland of Fidel and Raúl and of so many heroes and martyrs will continue to be a beacon of dignity, the Island of freedom and the example that a better world is possible. It is a fact: this is the Congress of the continuity of a Revolution.
