The analysis of the General Strategy for the Implementation of the Cadre Policy focuses, in this first moment of the morning, the exchange of the militants in Commission 3, headed by the President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, the newspaper Granma publishes.
With the certainty that the construction of a socialist and sovereign society will only be irreversible if the ideological strengthening of our revolutionary process and the economic, social and cultural development of the country are conducted, with equal precision and transforming intention, this Saturday the debate and work in the commissions of the 8th Party Congress takes place.
Chaired by the Prime Minister, Manuel Marrero Cruz, Commission 1 began this day with the examination of two core documents to chart the course to follow in the next five years: Proposal to update the Economic and Social Policy Guidelines for the period 2021-2026 and the Proposal to update the Conceptualization of the economic model.
The member of the Political Bureau, Mercedes López Acea, is in charge of presenting the documents, which have already been previously analyzed by the delegates and which must be approved by Congress, in plenary session.
Also attending are the members of the Political Bureau Esteban Lazo Hernández, president of the National Assembly of People’s Power and the Council of State; Salvador Valdés Mesa, Vice President of the Republic; Ramiro Valdés Menéndez, vice prime minister; Inés María Chapman, Vice Prime Minister; Marino Murillo Jorge, head of the Permanent Commission for Implementation and Development; and Ulises Guilarte de Nacimiento, secretary general of the Federation of Cuban Workers, among other leaders of the Party and the Government.
Meanwhile, Commission 2, which evaluates the functioning and ideological work of the Party, continues the study of the issues referred to in yesterday’s afternoon session, such as the work of the party organization in the care of youth, the ideological battle that currently it takes place on the scene of social networks, and it is essential to renew the ways of doing things in the different structures, but without neglecting the historical methods that, as has been proven, work well.
Under the leadership of José Ramón Machado Ventura, second secretary of the Central Committee of the PCC, the meeting is propitious to also discuss the importance of universities in the development of the political and ideological life of society and, with that principle, the need to guarantee the solidity and political knowledge of workers and teachers of these institutions, as well as constant exchange with young people.
Also participating are the members of the Political Bureau Roberto Morales Ojeda, Deputy Prime Minister, Teresa Amarelle Boué, General Secretary of the Cuban Women Federation, Ramón Espinosa Martín, Vice Minister of the Revolutionary Armed Forces, and Marta Ayala Ávila, General Director of the Center of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology.
