New honorary members of the Cuban Academy of Sciences.

Cuba: Professionals with a relevant career, representing a large part of the country’s universities and research centers attached to the Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment (Citma), were elected as honorary members of the Academy of Sciences of Cuba,  Radio Reloj reports.

According to a note published on the official site of the aforementioned institution, 22 personalities were selected whose incorporation strengthens the presence of the Academy in the national scientific community.

The new members exercise their respective professions at the universities of Havana, Pinar del Río, Matanzas, Cienfuegos, Sancti Spíritus, Holguín, Guantánamo and Oriente, in Santiago de Cuba.

The group of distinguished personalities is completed by professionals from the University of Medical Sciences and the Manuel Fajardo Military Hospital in Villa Clara; from the Roberto Rodríguez General Teaching Hospital, from Ciego de Ávila; the Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology, Sancti Spíritus; and the Nicolás Guillen Study Center in Camagüey.
