The blockade is an act of genocide and a massive violation of human rights.

Havana, Cuba: The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cuba, Bruno Rodríguez, said this Thursday that on June 23 the General Assembly of the United Nations will consider the resolution to end the United States Blockade against our country.

The Cuban Foreign Minister stressed that the blockade is an act of genocide that constitutes a massive violation of human rights.

In his Twitter account, he referred to the 243 coercive measures applied by former US President Donald Trump, which remain in force under the administration of President Joe Biden.

?The blockade is a cruel policy, which causes suffering, deprivation and deficiencies in Cuban families. It has been deliberately toughened during the COVID-19 pandemic; it hinders access to necessary medicines, supplies and equipment?, he stressed.

Rodríguez affirmed that the economic, commercial and financial blockade against the island restricts the freedom to travel of Americans, and “its extraterritorial application drastically reduces our income and hinders development.”

“Like the virus that causes this pandemic, the US blockade suffocates and harms Cuban families,” he added.

The Cuban Foreign Minister also pointed out that Cuba relies on the support of the international community to put an end to this inhumane policy.
