Havana, Cuba: The national director of Epidemiology of the Ministry of Public Health of Cuba, Dr. Francisco Durán, reported this Friday eight deaths and 1,288 positive samples for Covid-19 during the last 24 hours, for an accumulated of 154 thousand 866 diagnoses since the beginning of the disease in the nation.
During his usual press conference, the specialist reported that at midnight yesterday 27 thousand 385 patients were admitted, of them 4 thousand 834 suspects, 16 thousand 359 in epidemiological surveillance and 6 thousand 192 confirmed assets.
Durán explained that the country carried out 22,690 samples the day before for a cumulative 4 million 575 thousand 595 samples analyzed.
The epidemiologist announced that, of the 1,288 patients, 652 were asymptomatic at the time of diagnosis, 1,172 have a source of infection in previously confirmed cases, 68 have a source of infection abroad and in 48 people the source of contagion is unknown and one thousand 220 are autochthonous.
Regarding the age groups, 225 children under 19 years of age were diagnosed, and 213 in pediatric ages (10 under one year of age). 891 patients remain active in hospital. In the ages 19 to 39 years, 391 cases were confirmed, between 40 and 59 years about 437 cases and 235 people older than 60 years.

Of the 154,866 patients diagnosed with the disease, 6,192 remain hospitalized, of them 6,050 with stable clinical evolution. 1,065 deaths accumulated (8 per day), two evacuees, 54 returned to their countries, there were 1,135 discharges on the day, 147 thousand 553 recovered patients accumulate (95.2%). 142 confirmed patients, 52 critically ill and 90 critically ill, are cared for in intensive care.
Until June 10, 190 countries and 30 territories with COVID-19 cases are reported, the confirmed cases amount to 175 million 393 thousand 798 (+ 427 thousand 451) with 12 million 372 thousand 670 active cases and 3 million 783 thousand 75 deaths (+ 11,465) for a fatality of 2.16 (=).
