Festival Cuba Rumba Tata Güines in Memoriam will be in session soon.

Mayabeque, Cuba: The Cuba Rumba Tata Güines in Memoriam Festival will take place from June 26 to 30 on social networks, radio, the provincial tele-center and Canal Clave, through concerts, premieres, meetings and a theoretical space.

The Music Specialist in the Directorate of Culture in Mayabeque, Lyuvis Reinoso Feria, confirms that this fourth edition is growing in quantity and quality of proposals, with the participation of local groups such as Rumberos de Mayabeque, Tambores de Bejucal and Kaidara.

Rumbávila from Ciego de Ávila, Rumbatá from Camagüey, Ochareó de Cienfuegos, Los Muñequitos de Matanzas de Matanzas, Rumbasoc de Artemisa and Havana, the Ominí Batá, Osaín del Monte and Timbalaye and Tata Güines ensembles, led by his son, Arturo Soto Martínez, also president of the event.

Several archival materials will evoke the Queen of Guaguancó, Celeste Mendoza, Celia Cruz and other figures of the Cuban sound heritage.

Similarly, several virtual exhibitions will cover the artistic career of Tata Güines.

The theoretical meeting of the appointment will be made up of lectures on the roots and particularities of rumba in the territory, the childhood and training of Arístides Soto in the Leguina neighborhood and the future of the genre in the towns of the province.

They will be in charge of the specialists Felicia Hernández Lorenzo, Anays de la Caridad Travieso Montes, Elizabeth Pérez Sangroniz and Andrea García Molina.

In addition, the musician Raúl Cabrera will offer a group of testimonies about his friendship and professional relationship with El Rey del Tambor.

Heirs, disciples and members of the group that bears the name of the Illustrious Son of Güines, will also honor his teaching in the rumba.

Online contests and participations complete this space for integration, homage and improvement.
