Havana, Cuba: Cuba will continue the exchange of experiences on the implementation of ideas, concepts and guidelines emanating from the 8th Congress of the Communist Party of the island (PCC).

According to the head of the Ideological Department of the Central Committee of that political organization, Rogelio Polanco, the debates will take place next month within the PCC and the Council of Ministers.

In his Twitter account, Polanco pointed out that mass organizations, the Young Communists League and the National Assembly of People’s Power (Parliament) will also participate.

The day before the cycle of provincial meetings started in Pinar del Río closed in Mayabeque, after the celebration in April of the PCC congress, which raised economic development, the fight for peace and ideological firmness as the bases of the organization’s work. .

These meetings seek to materialize the ideas and concepts of the party meeting, in the context of the economic ordering process implemented by the Island in the midst of the intensification of the United States blockade and the impacts of the economic crisis aggravated by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Among the main aspects addressed in the contacts headed by the first secretary of the PCC, Miguel Díaz-Canel, with local leaders of that political group at all levels, were the need to strengthen the functioning of the organization’s base structures.

The integral preparation of the leaders, the role of the militants in promoting economic tasks and in particular the production of food, as well as the attention to the youth and the mass organizations were among the subjects debated.

In Cuba, the PCC is the leading political organization of society, its ranks are made up of more than 700 thousand people, and it has around 58 thousand base formations.
