Havana: The national director of Epidemiology of the Ministry of Public Health of Cuba, Dr. Francisco Durán, reported this Thursday 68 deaths and 8,607 samples positive for Covid-19 during the last 24 hours, for a cumulative of 366,985 diagnoses since the beginning of the disease in the nation, Radio Habana Cuba publishes.
During his usual press conference, the specialist reported that at midnight yesterday 85 thousand 289 patients were admitted, of them 37 thousand 496 suspects, 3 thousand 734 in epidemiological surveillance and 44 thousand 059 confirmed assets.
Durán explained that the country analyzed 53 thousand 469 samples the day before for a cumulative of 6 million 414 thousand 461 samples analyzed.
The epidemiologist announced that, of the 8,607 patients, 476 were asymptomatic at the time of diagnosis, 8,558 have a source of infection in previously confirmed cases, 16 have a source of infection abroad and in 33 people the source of contagion is unknown, 8 thousand 591 are autochthonous.
Of the total confirmed, 3,968 are male and 4,639 female. Regarding the age groups, 1,522 children under 19 years of age were diagnosed, and 1,393 were diagnosed in pediatric ages (90 under one year of age). In the ages of 20 to 39 years, 2,562 cases were confirmed, between 40 and 59 years 2,952 cases and 1,571 people over 60 years of age.

Pinar del Río: 152, Artemisa: 536, Havana: 1,714, Mayabeque: 342, Matanzas: 1,284, Cienfuegos: 463, Villa Clara: 417, Sancti Spíritus: 219, Ciego de Ávila: 676, Camagüey: 415, Las Tunas: 499, Granma: 192, Holguín: 391, Santiago de Cuba: 705 and Guantánamo: 602.
The expert specified that, of the 366 thousand 985 patients diagnosed with the disease since the beginning of it, 44 thousand 059 of them remain confirmed, 43 thousand 719 with stable clinical evolution. 2,628 deaths are reported (68 in the last day) for a fatality of 0.72. The two evacuees remain, 54 returnees and 320 thousand 242 recovered patients accumulate (8 thousand 73 discharges of the day). 146 critically ill patients and 197 critically ill patients are reported.
