Cuba: At midnight yesterday, August 2, 95 thousand 349 patients were admitted at hospitals, 45 thousand 212 suspects, 4 thousand 171 under surveillance and 45 thousand 966 confirmed active, the Ministry of Public Health publishes in its official website.
For COVID-19, 39,294 samples were studied, resulting in 9,629 positive samples. The country accumulates 6 million 648 thousand 722 samples made and 413 thousand 251 positive.
Of the total cases (9,629): 9,571 were contacts of confirmed cases; 25 with a source of infection abroad; 33 without a specified source of infection. Of the 9,629 cases diagnosed, 5,154 were female and 4,475 male.
4.4% (429) of the 9 thousand 629 positive cases were asymptomatic, accumulating a total of 107 thousand 807, which represents 26.0% of those confirmed to date.
The 9,629 diagnosed cases belong to the age groups: under 20 years: 1,792; from 20 to 39 years: 2,846; from 40 to 59 years old: 3,139; and more than 60: 1,852 cases.

Of the 413 thousand 251 patients diagnosed with the disease, 45 thousand 966 remain hospitalized, of them 45 thousand 609 with stable clinical evolution. 2 993 deaths accumulate (80 in the day), lethality of 0.72% vs 2.13% in the world and 2.60% in the Americas; two evacuees, 54 returned to their countries, on the day there were 7,538 discharges, 364 thousand 236 recovered patients accumulate (88.1%). 357 confirmed patients are cared for in intensive care, of which 141 critical and 216 seriously ill.
On the day 80 deceased patients were reported.
Until 02 August, 190 countries and 32 territories with COVID-19 cases are reported, the confirmed cases amount to 199 million 431 thousand 513 (+ 468 thousand 246) with 15 million 263 thousand 395 active cases and 4 million 246 thousand 57 deaths (+ 6 thousand 581) for a fatality of 2.13% (=).
In the region of the Americas, 78 million 279 thousand 990 confirmed cases are reported (+ 79 thousand 933), 39.25% of the total cases reported in the world, with 7 million 538 thousand 566 active cases and 2 million 32 thousand 634 deaths (+ 748) for a fatality of 2.60% (=).
