Havana:  The national director of Epidemiology of the Ministry of Public Health of Cuba, Dr. Francisco Durán, reported this Thursday 93 deaths and 8,399 positive samples for Covid-19 during the last 24 hours, for a accumulated of 431 thousand 013 diagnoses since the beginning of the disease in the nation, Radio Habana Cuba reports.

During his usual press conference, the specialist reported that at the close of yesterday there were 100 thousand 823 patients admitted, of them 50 thousand 961 suspects, 4 thousand 230 in epidemiological surveillance and 45 thousand 632 confirmed assets.

Durán explained that the country analyzed 46 thousand 306 samples the day before for an accumulated of 6 million 734 thousand 699 samples analyzed.

The epidemiologist announced that, of the 8,399 patients, 8,336 have a source of infection in previously confirmed cases, 24 have a source of infection abroad and in 39 people the source of infection is unknown and 8,375 are autochthonous.

Of the total of those confirmed, 4 thousand 26 are male and 4 thousand 373 are female. Regarding the age groups, 1,558 children under the age of 19 were diagnosed, and 1,444 in pediatric ages (86 under one year). In the ages of 20 to 39 years, 2 thousand 479 cases were confirmed, between 40 and 59 years 2 thousand 755 cases and one thousand 607 people older than 60 years.

Residence by provinces of the confirmed cases:

Pinar del Río: 283, Artemisa: 344, La Habana: 1 461, Mayabeque: 361, Matanzas: 728, Cienfuegos: 644, Villa Clara: 437, Sancti Spíritus: 261, Ciego de Ávila: 1 028, Camagüey: 554, Las Tunas: 270, Granma: 217, Holguín: 595, Santiago de Cuba: 501 and Guantánamo: 715.

He specified that, of the 431 thousand 013 patients diagnosed with the disease since the beginning of it, 43 thousand 955 of them remain confirmed, 45 thousand 632 with stable clinical evolution. 3,184 deaths are reported (93 in the last day) for a fatality of 0.75. The two evacuees remain, 54 returnees and 382,141 recovered patients accumulate (8,787 discharges of the day). 150 critically ill patients and 257 critically ill patients are reported.
