For COVID-19, 45,939 samples were studied, resulting in 8,666 positive samples. The country accumulates 7 million 290 thousand 041 samples made and 545 thousand 275 positive.
Of the total number of cases (8,666): 8,622 were contacts of confirmed cases; 19 with a source of infection abroad; 25 without a specified source of infection. Of the 8,666 cases diagnosed, 4,605 ??were female and 4,661 male.
4.8% (417) of the 8,666 positive cases were asymptomatic, accumulating a total of 113,320, which represents 20.7% of those confirmed to date.
The 8,666 diagnosed cases belong to the age groups: under 20 years old (1,735), 20 to 39 years old (2,490), 40 to 59 years old (2,711) and over 60 (1,730).

Of the 545 thousand 275 patients diagnosed with the disease, 44 thousand 730 remain hospitalized, of them 44 thousand 272 with stable clinical evolution. 4,240 deaths accumulate (84 in the day), fatality of 0.92% vs 2.1% in the world and 2.54% in the Americas; two evacuees, 55 returned to their countries, on the day there were 8,010 discharges, 496 thousand 248 recovered patients accumulate (91%). 458 confirmed patients are cared for in intensive care, 128 of them critical and 330 seriously ill.
On the day 84 deceased patients were reported.
Until August 17, 190 countries and 32 territories with COVID-19 cases are reported, it amounts to 209 million 334 thousand 368 confirmed cases (+ 761 thousand 460) with 17 million 316 thousand 354 active cases and 4 million 393 thousand 437 deaths (+ 11,122) for a fatality of 2.1% (=).
In the region of the Americas, 81 million 709 thousand 10 confirmed cases are reported (+ 319 thousand 552), 39.03% of the total cases reported in the world, with 8 million 795 thousand 151 active cases and 2 million 77 thousand 854 deaths (+ 4,112) for a fatality of 2.54% (-0.01).
