Havana, Cuba: The Cuban Ministry of Public Health informs on its official website that at midnight yesterday, August 23, 110,028 patients were admitted, 55,223 suspects, 4,434 under surveillance and confirmed active 50 thousand 371.
Of a total of 45 thousand 529 samples taken for surveillance on the day, 9 thousand 907 were positive, for an accumulated in the country of 7 million 583 thousand 637 samples taken and 602 thousand 526 positive.
Of the total cases (9 thousand 007): 9 thousand 854 were contacts of confirmed cases; 21 with a source of infection abroad; 32 without a specified source of infection. Of the 9,007 cases diagnosed, 5,309 were female and 4,598 male.
3.2% (317) of the 9,907 positive cases were asymptomatic, accumulating a total of 115,561, which represents 19.2% of those confirmed to date.
The 9,907 diagnosed cases belong to the age groups: those under 20 years old, (2,223), 20 to 39 years old, (2,685), 40 to 59 years old (3,104) and more than 60, (thousand 895).

There are 4,710 deaths (92 in the day), fatality of 0.78% vs 2.09% in the world and 2.52% in the Americas; two evacuees, 55 returned to their countries, on the day there were 9,345 discharges, 547 thousand 388 recovered patients accumulate (90.8%). 478 confirmed patients are cared for in intensive care, 134 of them critical and 344 seriously ill.
