The CDRs: The strength of the country

Mayabeque, Cuba: With the aim of distinguishing the role of students and teachers in the fight against the lethal virus SARS-CoV-2, the Committees for the Defense of the Revolution in Mayabeque will deliver the Barrio Award to the Faculty of Medical Sciences from the province, as part of the activities for the 61 years of the largest mass organization in the country, which are commemorated this September 28.

The Coordinator of the CDRs in the demarcation, Yunier Romero Rizo, pointed out that it is a distinction that represents the appreciation of this group for the work carried out for more than 16 months against COVID-19.

This recognition was approved by the National Directorate and will be conferred as soon as the epidemiological situation allows it. The decision has the purpose of highlighting all Cuban universities of Medical Sciences for their tireless efforts in facing the pandemic, he stressed.

The award that honors community work and social contribution will also be awarded to the Pre-University Institute Mártires of Granada from Batabanó and the Provincial President of the José Martí Cultural Society, Mercedes Caridad Guerra González.

On September 26, the central activities were carried out in the municipality of Quivicán, with voluntary work, from the groove, where a greater popular participation in food production and in actions to contain the epidemic in our blocks and communities.

Likewise, executives of the Quivican and Melena del Sur received the National Vanguard Status for the CDR´s work and the fulfillment of the tasks of this revolutionary force in the country.

As part of the tribute, the CDRs, together with the rest of the organizations in the province, give different distinctions to health institutions and other spheres, as well as to notorious professionals of the services and productive sectors, for their outstanding participation in the fight against the new coronavirus
