The blockade imposed by the United States affects everybody.

The economic blockade closes all sources of external financing to the country, which therefore affects Mayabeque in the sports field and sectors such as public health, education and culture, among others.

It excludes Cuba from the International Monetary Fund, the World Bank and all kinds of sources of soft loans; they prevent operating dollar accounts in their economic relations, which limits financing for the development of sport.

The siege affects the construction of sports facilities and their maintenance, the development of national and international events.

Another cause is not being able to guarantee equipment to athletes, going to purchases and offers in third countries, it also contributes to making the participation of athletes in events in the United States and other countries of the world more expensive.

In revolutionary sports, Cuba has one of its most important pillars, making known what a blocked people is capable of achieving, but with social justice and a coherent sports policy.

An example of this is the construction of sports complexes, schools and multipurpose halls throughout the country to turn sport into a people’s right.

The vision of Commander in Chief Fidel Castro awakened the talent in the communities to put the name of Cuba at the top of the podium over and over again.
