President of Cuba will participate today in the meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council.

Havana, Cuba: The president of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel, will participate today in a virtual way in the meeting of the Eurasian Economic Supreme Council, which seeks to identify perspectives for the development of integration, Prensa Latina publishes.

The meeting will be held in Minsk, the capital of Belarus, and will allow discussing the activities of the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) and outline directions for collaboration.

Cuba intervened for the first time in this type of event on December 11, 2020, when it was granted observer status in the regional bloc.

On that occasion, the Cuban president ratified his country’s commitment to promoting trade and cooperation ties with the UEE and its member states: Russia, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan.

The Council is the highest body of the Union, which also has Moldova and Uzbekistan as observer countries.
