Mayabeque, Cuba: The culture in Batabanó gradually resumes many of the activities in its institutions in the new normality and continues with its programming on virtual platforms.

This week the Municipal Library proposes the book Alcohólico por dentro, by the author Pedro Hernández of the Ácana Camagüey Publishing House, a subject of vital importance due to the increase in individuals who consume alcohol around the world.

The population can consult this volume in the reading room in Applied Sciences of the institution and others of their interest from Monday to Saturday from 9:00 in the morning to 6:00 in the afternoon in the general room.

On the other hand, the art instructors return with a special program dedicated to the elderly, as well as the reopening of the Grandparents’ House of the territory, talks, book readings, artistic encounters where music, creativity and the talent of the seniors cannot be absent.

The institution returns to a healthy and happy environment in a safe meeting, complying with the sanitary measures for confronting Covid-19.

With the collaboration of professionals, this age group in Batabanó also takes up the Tai Chi exercise routine.

They also show the visual arts exhibition Reencuentro, where many professional painters from the municipality contribute their grain of sand, in coordination with the House of Culture in Surgidero de Batabanó.

The exhibition features wooden sculptures by local artists, who were inspired from home and let their imagination run wild.
