Estudiantes de Ciencias Médicas intercambian con directivos del Ministerio de Salud y BioCubaFarma.

Mayabeque, Cuba: Representatives of the federations of the High School Students and Medical Sciences University Students held a meeting with authorities of the Ministry of Public Health and the BioCubaFarma Business Group, the newspaper Granma reports.

At the national meeting, the Vice Minister of the field, Tania Margarita Cruz Hernández, conveyed to the young people the confidence that the Cuban health system has in future technologists and specialists in the country.

Cruz Hernández added that hopes are placed on the graduations of primary, secondary and tertiary care, because these will have a direct route, and will give continuity to the programs of the Family Doctor and Nurse and Maternal and Child Care.

The official insisted on achieving a higher quality in education and comprehensive training, so that they are prepared, revolutionary, committed leaders and good people.

She also called to strengthen the movements of student assistants and Vanguardia Mario Muñoz Monroy.

The students learned about the biotechnological development in the country and the production of anti-COVID-19 vaccines, through a meeting with the President of BioCubaFarma, Doctor of Science Eduardo Martínez Díaz.

Martínez Díaz explained that among BioCubaFarma’s projections is to expand production capacities, diversify markets and retain the qualified workforce, based on a life project focused on carrying out internal actions to serve workers.

The young people inquired about the future steps of Cuban vaccines, the reinforcement strategy and the recognition of the World Health Organization. They also insisted on achieving a greater link between industry and universities.

Among the concerns raised by the representatives of these organizations were the continuity of studies of the middle technicians and the work of the movement of monitors with the incorporation of student assistants.

Other concerns are related to the resumption of the school year and the projections for the next school period, based on the differences in the teaching-educational process due to the epidemiological situation of each territory.

At the meeting they recognized the work of the students of the two organizations in the confrontation with the COVID-19 pandemic, where they were linked to tasks of economic and social impact.
