Havana: The anti-Covid-19 booster vaccination campaign continues today in Cuba, where the pandemic tends to decrease its incidence throughout the national territory, Prensa Latina publishes.

According to the Ministry of Public Health (Minsap), the vaccines Abdala and Soberana Plus, and the vaccine candidates Mambisa and Soberana 01, may be applied, regardless of the one used in the primary scheme.

The health authorities remind that people must have the complete three-dose scheme, and that six months have elapsed since the last administration.

It will also be received by those who have passed the Covid-19 and are fully vaccinated, and residents who arrive in the country with some of the immunogens available internationally, with six months from the final inoculation.

Those under 18 years of age, those with illnesses at the time of application, or those with decompensated chronic diseases or active oncology will not be vaccinated.

Neither will be those confirmed by positive PRC who received a dose of Soberana Plus or children, until the study of the duration of the immune response was concluded.

Pregnant women and those with allergies will be given Abdala and Soberana Plus without thiomersal.

The day before, the Minsap reported that a total of 28 million 960 thousand 590 doses of national vaccines against the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus, which causes Covid-19, have been administered in Cuba to date.

According to the report, 10 million 217 thousand 205 people received a dose of Cuban immunizers, while they already have the second nine million 262 thousand 225 and the third eight million 835 thousand 148.

With the complete vaccination scheme against Covid-19 there are nine million 357 thousand 454 citizens who represent 83.7 percent of the Cuban population, the source said.

Globally, this Caribbean nation is only surpassed by the United Arab Emirates, with 88.4 percent of its inhabitants vaccinated, and the third position is occupied by Portugal with 82.34 percent.

The international data is collected in the statistical portal of the University of Oxford, Our World in Data, which also reflects that Cuba surpasses Chile, Uruguay and Brazil in Latin America.

On the other hand, the Antillean country also ranks first in the number of doses of Covid-19 vaccines administered per 100 people with an average of 253.96.
