Mayabeque, Cuba: The gratitude and applause reached the public health workers of Jaruco on December 23, in a ceremony presided over by the health authorities, the Government and the Party of the territory.

In the activity, they awarded the Labor Achievement Medal to the Graduate in Nursing, Midalis Álvarez García, who faced the pandemic on the island of Santa Lucía and is currently providing her services in Haiti.

The Merit to Humanism, Sensitivity and Solidarity seal was awarded to Dr. Daisela Fernández Sánchez, in recognition of her dedication and sacrifice in the Health area of ??the doctor´s office number eight of the Jaruco Popular Council.

Eight Medical Sciences students also deserved the praise for assisting coronavirus patients in the red zone and supporting investigations and vaccination.

The director of Public Health of Jaruco, Dr. Antonio Herrera González highlighted the contribution of the departments of Hygiene and Epidemiology, Statistics, Nursing, Vaccination, Clinical Laboratory, among other groups to health in such a complex period.

For their performance in these positions, they recognized almost 40 workers, including the advisor of the Sibil Misas Immunization Program, the head of the Polyclinic Noelio Capote laboratory, Isabel Ruiz, the institutional communicator, Ofelia Delgado and the administrator of the Grandparents’ House , Julieta Lóriga.

The health authorities also highlighted the unconditional support of Education, Radio Jaruco and the Transportation Base Business Unit.

Jaruco’s health authorities say goodbye to 2021 assuming the call for the new mass vaccination campaign that will begin in January to administer the booster dose in the face of the rapid spread of the omicron variant of the coronavirus.
