Mayabeque, Cuba: The potato harves began in the territory in areas of the Basic Unit of Cooperative Production (UBPC) 13 de Marzo, belonging to the Agricultural Company of Batabanó.
The agricultural workers of this UBPC concentrate efforts on the collection to begin the distribution of the tuber to the local population, through the warehouses. The sale of the product will be regulated by each family unit.
Batabanó has a great productive commitment in the cold season.
As confirmed by the director of the Agricultural Company in the town, Michel Pérez Reyes, this season they will harvest 364 hectares and stressed that the biggest challenge today is to exceed tuber yields per hectare.
The resources are assured to successfully carry out the campaign, with the support of workers from different work centers who will later join productive work.
