Havana, Cuba: The Cuban Ministry of Public Health reported this Thursday 595 positive samples to Covid-19 during the last 24 hours, for a cumulative of 1 million 067 thousand 522 diagnoses since the beginning of the disease in the nation, Radio Habana Cuba publishes.
At midnight yesterday, February 23, a total of 8 thousand 398 patients are admitted, 5 thousand 732 suspects in surveillance 60 and confirmed active 2 thousand 606.
For COVID-19, a total of 13,287 samples were taken for surveillance on the day, with 595 being positive for 4.5% positivity. The country accumulates 13 million 039 thousand 224 samples carried out and 1 million 067 thousand 522 positives (8.2%).
Of the total cases (595): 567 were contacts of confirmed cases, 21 with a source of infection abroad and 7 without a specified source of infection. Of the 595 diagnosed cases, 330 were female and 265 male.
7.7% (46) of the 595 positive cases were asymptomatic, accumulating a total of 144,982, which represents 13.5% of those confirmed to date.
Of the 595 diagnosed cases, they belong to the age groups: under 20 years old (141), 20 to 39 years old (178), 40 to 59 years old (168), 60 and over (108).
Of the million 067 thousand 522 patients diagnosed with the disease, 2 thousand 606 remain hospitalized, of them 2 thousand 576 with stable clinical evolution. There are 8,494 deaths, a lethality of 0.79% vs 1.38% in the world and 1.78% in the Americas; two evacuated and 57 returned to their countries. On the day there were 737 discharges, accumulated 1 million 056 thousand 363 recovered patients (98.9%). 30 confirmed patients are treated in intensive care, 8 of them critical and 22 seriously ill.
As of February 19, 192 countries and 32 territories are reported with cases of COVID-19, amounting to 422 million 855 thousand 881 confirmed cases (+ 1 million 662 thousand 833) with 69 million 304 thousand 643 active cases and 5 million 895 thousand 988 deceased (+ 10 thousand 600) for a lethality of 1.39% (-0.01).
In the region of the Americas, 147 million 72 thousand 420 confirmed cases (+ 307 thousand 749) are reported, 34.78% of the total cases reported in the world, with 33 million 17 thousand 248 active cases and 2 million 628 thousand 219 deceased (+ 5 thousand 35) for a lethality of 1.79% (-0.01).
