In favor of local development.

Mayabeque, Cuba: Four self-employed women got together and made true a local development project in Madruga, a textile workshop aimed at generating platforms that facilitate economic self-management.

This is based on textile, craft and saddlery production, initially with contracts with state companies in the province of Mayabeque and the country, which have already fulfilled the agreed terms.

Yanet Vázquez Pérez and Adalina Vega are the main coordinators of this local development project in Madruga of an economic and productive nature, but also with a social impact, since one of their purposes is to expand services to the population and facilitate workshops and summer training courses.

This work aimed at rescuing the seamstress trade, by teaching basic techniques in order to revitalize a tradition in Madruga associated with crafts.

Equipped with modern technology and financed by the managers, the Madruga Textile Workshop is the first to produce, but the goal is to open other units in the municipalities of Jaruco, Santa Cruz del Norte, Nueva Paz and San Nicolás.

In the municipality there are other local development projects in the implementation phases and five of them should begin execution in 2022.
