Mayabeque, Cuba: The boxer from Mayabeque, Osvel David Caballero, secured a silver medal after winning his 57-kilogram division against Sancti Spíritus’s opponent, Osvaldo Díaz, with a vote of 5-0 in the continuation of the National Beach Boxing Championship Girón, based in Camagüey.
The athlete from Batabanó is fulfilling his purpose of reaching the top of the podium, although in the final he will face the rival from Cienfuegos, Saidel Orta, who has had very good performance in this contest.
This fight will be on the day of this Saturday, June 25.
Osvel, once he finishes his ride at the Playa Girón, will be part of a Cuban squad that will attend Kazakhstan, where they will have inclusions in three international events.
As planned, the province will withdraw from the discipline tournament with a medal, although the color is still unknown.
So far, the Mayabeque team has accumulated a total of 10 points in the sporting event and only has one boxer in the medal discussion.
