De manera virtual la ONU valorará situación Covid-19 en el mundo.

Havana: The president of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel, will participate in the XXXI special session of the General Assembly of the United Nations (UN), which will begin today virtually.

The meeting will last until Friday and will analyze the global response to the Covid-19 pandemic, according to the Latin American Information Agency (PL).

The representation of the largest of the Antilles will also be made up of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bruno Rodríguez.

Likewise, the permanent representative of Cuba to the United Nations, Pedro Luis Pedroso, and other officials of the Foreign Ministry will attend virtually, the Granma newspaper reported.

The Cuban president intervened last September in the general debate of the 75th session of the UN General Assembly, also convened virtually, where he denounced the escalation of aggression by the United States government against the island in the midst of the Covid- 19.

Washington’s aggressiveness has escalated to a qualitatively new level, which reinforces its condition as a real and decisive impediment to the management of the economy and development, he denounced.

He also requested the cessation of the defamatory campaign against Cuba’s international medical cooperation, whose members contribute to saving lives and reducing the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic in various latitudes.
