En Sancti Spíritus se afectó el 56,1 por ciento de la población en lo referido al servicio eléctrico

Sancti Spíritus, Cuba: After the impact of tropical storm Laura through the south of that central province of Cuba, recovery is progressing today from the effects caused by the meteorological phenomenon.

According to Prensa Latina, the Provincial Defense Council carries out several actions at this stage and pays special attention to the towns in the south of the territory, mainly Trinidad.

In that province, 56.1 percent of the population was affected with regard to electrical service, while the day before 95 percent of the customers of the damaged circuits already received it.

The 3,790 people sheltered in family homes and protection centers returned to their homes.

Likewise, work is being done on the collection of solid waste and debris and local solutions are applied in all municipalities to heal the damage caused to homes, state and social centers, mostly partial roofs.

The Health system, for its part, reactivated the epidemiological surveillance through the investigation, as a prevention and control measure of the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus, which causes Covid-19.

The anti-vector campaign against the Aedes aegypti mosquito, the transmitting agent of dengue, chikungunya, Zika and yellow fever, is also not neglected, since the rains these days favor the appearance of outbreaks of this harmful insect.

Meanwhile, transport restored all its services, including the railway, as well as the interprovincial travels.

In addition, food is guaranteed in the 58 Family Attention Systems to vulnerable cases.
