Mayabeque, Cuba: The members of the Mayabeque Provincial Defense Council traveled to the Surgidero of Batabanó Popular Council to examine the progress of the recovery, which has been intense, after the passage of tropical storm Laura through the south of this territory.
The authorities of Batabanó and the presidents of the defense zones reported on the situation of the 329 affected homes and the actions in process to solve it in the shortest possible time.
“We must visit each of the cases, give them peace of mind until the resources arrive and, from the social point of view, make progress in everything that can be given an immediate solution”, the President of the Provincial Defense Council , Yanina de la Nuez Aclich, said.
The leaders made a call to work with quality in the housing restoration process and to be agile in carrying out the reports of each victim and the distribution of materials, with emphasis on the Surgidero.
The vice president of the Provincial Defense Council, Tamara Valido Benítez, indicated prioritizing the visit to families with children who must start the school year next Tuesday, as well as educational centers and mothers with more than three children.
The entities were also called upon to participate in supporting their workers and unity in each of the sectors.
The President of the Provincial Defense Council insisted on the need to recover the hectares of crops affected by the tropical storm by calling for productive jobs of the entities and youth and mass organizations.
As stated by the Director of the General Directorate of Infrastructure of the Provincial Administration, Félix Arvelo Bueno, in the case of the other municipalities, they work on the damages with the greatest agility in the distribution, while in the territories of Santa Cruz del Norte, Madruga , Bejucal and Quivicán they have already delivered the materials to those affected.
