Cuba: The Abu Dhabi Fund for Development promotes the increase of installed capacity in solar plants in Cuba, in joint collaboration for a better use of renewable energies.
According to a press release from the embassy of the Arab nation, the Abu Dhabi Fund recently received authorization to increase the capacity of the 10 megawatt photovoltaic plant installed in the Caribbean nation by five megawatts thanks to the impulse of the institution.
The project, currently connected to the grid, supplies enough electricity for approximately 10,000 homes on the Island, Radio Rebelde says.
According to the note, the goal in Cuba is to help the nation with its goal of producing 24 percent of electricity from renewable sources by 2030.
