Havana: At midnight yesterday, September 17, 1,830 patients were admitted to hospitals for clinical epidemiological surveillance, of them: 74 under surveillance, 1,114 suspected and 642 confirmed, reports the official website of the Cuban Ministry of Public Health.
For COVID-19, 8,405 samples were studied, resulting in 71 positive samples. The country accumulates 524 thousand 374 samples carried out and 5 thousand 004 positive (0.95%).
The 71 diagnosed cases are Cuban, 63 were contacts of confirmed cases, three without a specified source of infection and five with a source of infection abroad, 36 of the cases are male and 35 are female. 63.4% (45) were asymptomatic.

Until September 17, 185 countries with COVID-19 cases are reported, the confirmed cases (+291 thousand 092) and 941 thousand 291 deaths (+5 thousand 524) amount to 29 million 902 thousand 487 for a fatality of 3.14 %.
In the region of the Americas, 15 million 245 thousand 252 confirmed cases (+103 thousand 939) are reported, 50.98% of the total cases reported in the world, with 522 thousand 420 deaths (+2 thousand 881) for a fatality of 3.42%.
