Cuba confirms 51 new positive samples for Covid-19.

Havana: At midnight yesterday, September 18, 2 thousand 001 patients are admitted to hospitals for clinical epidemiological surveillance, of them: 95 under surveillance, 1,250 suspected and 656 confirmed, reports the official website of the Cuban Ministry of Public Health.

For COVID-19, 7,554 samples were studied, resulting in 51 positive samples. The country accumulates 531 thousand 928 samples carried out and 5 thousand 055 positive (0.95%).

Of the 51 diagnosed cases, 48 are Cubans and three foreigners residing in the country, 45 were contacts of confirmed cases and six without a specified source of infection. 34 are male and 17 are female. 72.5% (37) were asymptomatic.

Distribution of the 51 confirmed cases by municipalities:

• Artemisa (1 case): San Cristóbal (1 case)

• Mayabeque (2 cases): San José de las Lajas (2)

• Havana (33 cases): Arroyo Naranjo (8), Habana Vieja (4), Regla (4), Playa (3), Cerro (2), Diez de Octubre (2), La Lisa (2), Boyeros ( 2), Centro Habana (2), Habana del Este (2), Plaza de la Revolución (1), San Miguel del Padrón (1).

• Matanzas (14 cases): Cárdenas (14).

• Holguín (1 case): Antilla (1).

Of the 5,055 patients diagnosed with the disease, 656 (13%) remain in the hospital, 638, 97.2% with stable clinical evolution. 113 deaths are reported (two of the day), two evacuated, 35 discharges of the day, 4,284 recovered patients accumulate (85%). Five patients are reported in critical condition and 13 in serious condition.

Until September 18, 185 countries with COVID-19 cases are reported, it amounts to 30 million 214 thousand 496 confirmed cases (+ 312 thousand 9) and 946 thousand 665 deaths (+ 5 thousand 374) for a fatality of 3.13 (-0.01).

In the region of the Americas, 15 million 363 thousand 225 confirmed cases are reported (+ 117 thousand 973), 50.85% of the total cases reported in the world, with 525 thousand 168 deaths (+ 2 thousand 748) for a fatality of 3.42.
