Cuba confirms 81 new positive cases for Covid-19.

Havana: At midnight yesterday, September 21, 8,074 patients were admitted to health institutions for clinical epidemiological surveillance, of them: 6,162 under surveillance, 1,315 suspects and 597 confirmed, the website of the Ministry of Public Health of Cuba publishes.

For COVID-19 8,175 samples were studied, resulting in 81 positive samples. The country accumulates 554 thousand 425 samples carried out and 5 thousand 222 positive (0.94%).

Of the 81 cases diagnosed, 73 are Cubans and eight foreigners temporarily residing in Cuba, 78 were contacts of confirmed cases and three without a specified source of infection, 54 are male and 27 are female. 77.8% were asymptomatic, accumulating 3 thousand 123 that represent 59.8% of those confirmed to date.

Distribution by province and municipality of the 81 confirmed cases:

• Havana (42 cases): Regla (9), Centro Habana (8), Marianao (6), Arroyo Naranjo (6), Cerro (3), Boyeros (3), Diez de Octubre (2), La Lisa ( 1), Playa (1), Habana Vieja (1), Cotorro (1), Plaza de la Revolución (1).

• Matanzas (24 cases): Cárdenas (23), Jovellanos (1).

• Sancti Spíritus (1 case): Jatibonico (1).

• Ciego de Ávila (13): Bolivia (5), Majagua (5), Ciego de Ávila (3).

• Holguín (1 case): Holguín (1).

Of the 5,222 patients diagnosed with the disease, 597 (11.4%) remain confirmed, 586 98.1% with stable clinical evolution. 117 deaths are reported (one of the day), two evacuated, 44 discharges of the day, 4 thousand 506 recovered patients accumulate (86.3%). Three patients are reported in critical condition and eight in serious condition.

Until September 21, 185 countries with COVID-19 cases are reported, the confirmed cases amount to 31 million 091 thousand 469 (+255 thousand 547) and 961 thousand 352 deaths (+3 thousand 562) for a lethality of 3.09 % (-0.01).

In the region of the Americas, 15 million 704 thousand 633 confirmed cases (+90 thousand 166) are reported, 50.51% of the total cases reported in the world, with 532 thousand 540 deaths (+1 thousand 392) for a fatality of 3.39% (-0.01).
