Cuba: At midnight yesterday, September 28, 7,298 patients were admitted to hospitals for clinical epidemiological surveillance, of them: 5,536 under surveillance, 1,221 suspects and 541 confirmed, the official website of the Ministry of Public Health of Cuba publishes.

For COVID-19, 7,424 samples were studied, resulting in 48 positive samples. The country accumulates 606 thousand 444 samples carried out and 5 thousand 531 positive (0.91%).

Of the total number of cases (48): 43 were contacts of confirmed cases and 5 without a specified source of infection. Of these, 22 (45.8%) were male (50.6%) and 26 were female.

The residence by province and municipality of the 48 confirmed cases:

  • Havana (30 Cases): October 10 (9), Boyeros (4), Arroyo Naranjo (4), Centro Habana (3), Habana del Este (3), Playa (3), Marianao (2), La Lisa (two).
  • Matanzas (2 Cases): Cárdenas (2).
  • Sancti Spíritus (9 Cases): Sancti Spíritus (5), Taguasco (3), Yaguajay (1).
  • Ciego de Ávila (7 Cases): Ciego de Ávila (3), Morón (3), Venezuela (1).

Of the 5 thousand 531 patients diagnosed with the disease, 541 (9.7%) remain confirmed admitted, of which 535, 98.8% with stable clinical evolution. 122 deaths are reported (none of the day), two evacuees, 79 discharges of the day. 4,866 recovered patients accumulate (88.0%), two patients in critical condition and four in serious condition.

Until September 28, 185 countries with COVID-19 cases are reported, the number of confirmed cases rises to 33 million 178 thousand 45 (+ 312 thousand 207) and 998 thousand 784 deaths (+ 5 thousand 346) for a fatality of 3.01 (-0.01).

In the region of the Americas, 16 million 485 thousand 308 confirmed cases (+ 84 thousand 745) are reported, 49.68% of the total cases reported in the world, with 552 thousand 221 deaths (+ 1 thousand 460) for a fatality of 3.34 (-0.01).
