Havana: According to information from the Forecast Center of the Institute of Meteorology, the Tropical Storm Delta at 08:00 hours today was located about 210 kilometers south of Jamaica and 440 kilometers southeast of Grand Cayman, heading close to the west northwest, it will maintain this route in the next few hours, gaining somewhat more in intensity in the coming days.
Taking into account its possible trajectory during its approach to the Yucatan Peninsula and its area of influence over the western part of the country, as well as the hydrological situation of this region, characterized by remaining runoff in the channels due to the rains of the last days and the favorable state of the reservoirs, it was decided to establish the Information Phase for Pinar del Río, Artemisa and Isla de la Juventud Special Municipality starting at 11:00 today.
The rest of the provinces of the western region must keep attention on the evolution of this system and increase the hydro-meteorological monitoring.
The bodies, state agencies, social institutions and economic entities in the territories in the Information Phase must appreciate the particular situation and comply with the measures provided for in their respective disaster risk reduction plans with rationality, as well as the actions provided for in the Prevention Plan and control of the new Coronavirus.
The population is oriented to remain attentive to the information from the Institute of Meteorology and the Civil Defense, and to comply with discipline with the measures indicated by the local authorities.
