Havana: Cuba confirms 47 new cases of Covid-19, and no deaths at midnight yesterday, October 19, according to reports from the website of the Ministry of Public Health (Minsap), Radio Habana Cuba publishes.
The figures are the result of 6 thousand 699 samples studied in the different Molecular Biology laboratories of the national territory. The country accumulates 756 thousand 623 samples carried out and 6 thousand 305 patients diagnosed with the disease, since the pandemic began in Cuba on March 11th.
The 47 positives are autochthonous. Of them, 28 were asymptomatic at the time of the PCR. Forty-five were contacts of confirmed cases and two have not yet specified the source of infection. Eight are female and 39 are male.
The province of Sancti Spíritus has 16 cases and Pinar del Río 31, this being the one with the greatest epidemiological complexity in Cuba.
370 patients remain hospitalized in the country, 363 with stable clinical evolution. Five are in serious condition and two critical. There were 26 medical discharges, bringing the recovered patients to 5,806 patients (92.1%).
Until October 19, 185 countries with COVID-19 cases are reported, the confirmed cases amount to 40 million 107 thousand 3 (+ 332 thousand 101) and 1 million 114 thousand 638 deaths (+ 3 thousand 736) for a fatality of 2, 77 (-0.02).
In the region of the Americas, 18 million 866 thousand 832 confirmed cases (+ 93 thousand 368) are reported, 47.04% of the total cases reported in the world, with 609 thousand 983 deaths (+ 1 thousand 267) for a fatality of 3.23 (-0.01).
